Prof. Dr. Alexander Bassen
Prof. Dr. Alexander Bassen is a full professor of capital markets and corporate management at the University of Hamburg, Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences. He teaches in the areas of investment and finance as well as sustainable finance and accounting. He is the inaugural chair of the Independent Standards Board of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Prof. Bassen has also been a member of the Sustainability Reporting Board (SRB) and the Project Task Force (PTF) of the European Sustainability Reporting Standard (ESRS) of EFRAG; the German Council for Sustainable Development (RNE); the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU); and the G7 Impact Taskforce. He is also an honorary research associate at the University of Oxford (Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment) and a visiting professor at Hong Kong Baptist University and Henley Business School (Reading, UK). Prof. Bassen also heads the BMBF Sustainable Finance and Climate Protection project, which comprises 14 projects from various universities. He is also a member of several advisory committees for sustainable finance.

Prof. Dr. Kerstin Lopatta
Prof. Dr. Kerstin Lopatta holds the Chair of Accounting, Auditing and Sustainability at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Hamburg.
In her research, Prof. Lopatta empirically analyses the effects of environmental, social, and governance factors on companies and society.
Prof. Lopatta also analyses the influence of financial accounting standards on corporate decisions. Her academic work has been published in high-ranking international journals, such as European Accounting Review, Strategic Management Journal, and The Accounting Review.
Kerstin Lopatta is a member of the Supervisory Board and Audit Committee of Freenet AG, EUROKAI GmbH & Co. KGaA AG and HSBC Continental Europe. She is a member of the Sustainability Reporting Committee of the DRSC and Vice Chair of the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board.
