Which topics do you represent in the Management Alliance Academy’s team of experts?
Over the last 20 years, I have been involved in sustainable finance and sustainability reporting. In particular, I have helped shapethe development of climate reporting as part of the GHG Protocols and the voluntary and mandatory sustainability reportingof the German Sustainability Code and the EuropeanSustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
What questions do you discuss with the participants in the current course? Are there any topics that consistently move the participants?
We mainly deal with the framework conditions and the implementation of sustainability reporting. In particular, the necessity, understanding and implementation of the ESRS always require a lot of space for discussion. The question of materiality, corporate responsibility and the determination of indicators play a central role here.
What do you associate with the term “knowledge culture”?
The term is made up of two very broadly interpreted concepts : Knowledge and culture. In simplified and pragmaticterms, for me it means the values, rules and attitudes with which knowledge is dealt with in a company. Above all, it shows how much importance is attached to knowledge in business decisions. Knowledge is a central asset of companies.
What influencing factors do you see that can have a positive or negative impact on the issue of knowledge culture?
For me, the key question is the tone from the top. If top management does not valuethe t of knowledge appropriately, knowledge management will fail.
If you could make a wish: What do you expect from the future skills culture?
The realisation that skills must be constantly developed , as they have a very short half-life.
