Supervisory board competencies – On the way to standardised transparency

Starting with the 2022/2023 financial year, the German Corporate Governance Code (GCGC) requires German listed companies to disclose the individual competences of their supervisory board members. In a recently published analysis, the European Center for Board Effectiveness (ECBE), which specialises in optimising supervisory board work, and the management consultancy hkp/// group, which focuses on corporate governance and strategic HR management, have analysed the qualification matrices of the 160 companies listed in the DAX, MDAX and SDAX indices for the first time based on information from annual reports.
